The term ?reconstructed stone? is used to define a range of architectural precast finishes that closely match natural stones, particularly limestones and granites, in colour and texture.

To realise the most economical and best programme advantages of reconstructed stone finished precast cladding, the use of large panels produced using ?wet-cast? method is usually found to be the most effective solution for the project. The plasticity of the mix when poured and vibrated allows units to be readily formed into complex shapes and compacted around intricate reinforcement cages.

Such panels are cast as a homogeneous mix using high strength mixes achieving 28-day strengths in excess of 40N/mm² thereby providing a dense, durable and low porosity material with good weathering characteristics.

Large storey height and grid width panels can therefore be produced with their overall size limited size limited only road transport or site craneage constraints. Similarly finished but smaller manhandleable units are produced as cast stone, artstone and reconstituted stone by the ?wet-cast? method.

A wide choice of colour for the units is available by the appropriate sourcing and selection of the natural aggregates and cements and, if necessary, pigments.
